Turkey Exported 2 Billion Dollars of Cardboard Packaging in 11 Months

Turkey's cardboard packaging industry exported $ 2 billion to 194 countries in the first 11 months of 2019. The United Kingdom, Germany, Iraq, France, Israel, Greece, and the United States are among the leading markets to which we export the most.


In the first 11 months of 2019, the cardboard packaging industry in Turkey realized an increase of 16 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and realized as 2 billion dollars. Ali Can Duran, Vice President responsible for Carton Packaging, Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, said that the sector exports to 194 countries and is the 5th largest carton packaging producer in Europe and holds 11 percent of the European market.


Stating that the industry's average price per kilogram is 2.32 dollars, Duran said, “In the first 11 months of 2019, our industry's exports exceeded $ 2 billion, reaching the highest export value in the last 6 years. We aim to end the year with an export of 2.2 billion dollars. The United Kingdom, Germany, Iraq, France, Israel, Greece, and the United States are among the leading markets to which we export the most. Our unit price per kilogram for export to Qatar is 4.24, and $ 4.05 in the USA. Our aim is to reach the target of 4 dollars in all countries we export to. Sustainable environmental policies are becoming widespread, which reduces the use of plastic. We expect this to continue increasingly in the coming years and we are working to make the positive impact of the developments on this side on cardboard packaging exports even more, ”he said.
